    On Monday, November 18th, a new release of Business Catalyst is scheduled to take place. Besides features such as the New InContext Editor becoming default and customization options for shopping cart summary, the release also brings a series of bug fixes. Check out below what you can expect.

    New Content Editor default on all sites

    Over the past few months we have integrated a new content editor for the front end of your websites. This will allow Small Business Owners to edit their pages in a more friendly environment and without jeopardizing the layout of the page.

    The editor will become default for all sites starting with this release, allowing all our customers to take advantage of the latest features on all latest browsers.

    In case you still want your customers to use the previous editing experience you can turn the new editor off from Site Settings > Beta Features > Content management > Upgraded Content Editor. The new editor is focused on preserving the design integrity, while still allowing your customer access to a more complex and complete editing tool.

    As the new editor takes over, our old editing experience will become unavailable in the next 2 months, so make sure you transition your customers over to the new experience as soon as possible.

    Easily customize your shopping cart summary module

    Starting with this release you will be able to implement a custom experience on your shopping cart summary using custom templates for module_shoppingcartsummary. Here's an article on how to set this up and what tags can be used in the custom template.

    Announcing the decommissioning of V2

    As we move into the new year we plan on decommissioning the old V2 interfaces and move all our sites to the new and improved version 3. The current plan is to discontinue the old admin interface in end of January 2014, removing the switch from the admin that allowed partners to move between versions.

    This will allow us to focus on improvements to version 3, and improve our documentation and support efforts.

    With this step we close a long and arduous process that has seen us move away from an old structure and into a new and improved interface.

    Automatically white-listing of E-mail campaign links

    To improve the experience of e-mail campaign editing and sending we have automated the white-listing of links included in newsletters. From now on, Business Catalyst will rely on a series of parameters when linking back from a newsletter, removing the necessity of partners and customers to white-list the URLs they planned to include in campaigns.

    We hope this step will improve your experience in working with our e-mail marketing engine.
