The more reviews online about your business, the higher you will be listed in Google local searches. And now with over 30% of local searches being made on tablets and smart phones, reviews are helping people make more informed decisions about purchases (especially when they see that their friends have recommended you)!
People want to know what other people think so the more reviews the better. It is really just an offshoot of 'word of mouth marketing'.
Some say they would not risk getting a bad review! But don't you want to know if someone has a complaint about your business? It's also your chance to reply or thank them for their feedback, show that you care and possibly make it up to them. When people see you doing this online they know you are running a professional business that cares about its customers.To start getting reviews, ask your customers to fill out a review card, or add their review online to your Google Local page or one of the many review sites that are available, even if you need to give them an incentive to do so, like 10% off their next purchase.

- Search for the business on Google.com or Google Maps.
- Once you've located the business you'd like to review, click the more info link next to the business name in the left panel.
- The information window will expand with additional options.
- Click the Write a review link located above the address of the business. Give your review a title and rating.
- Click Save.
You need to be logged in to your Google Account to write a review. If you're not logged in, you'll be prompted to either sign in or create a Google Account.
