    Product Listing Ads Now in Australia for Adwords

    Google are rolling out a new Search ad format in Australia called Product Listing Ads.

    These ads are specifically designed for e-commerce stores - like kitchenware, clothes, toys, books, electronics or other consumer goods online.

    Once you have a Google Merchant Centre account, with your products adding to Google Shopping, we link your Adwords account to it and you'll be able to take advantage of this great option. Google then creates all the ads automatically (including a picture) based on the content of your Merchant Centre feed.

    If you already have a Merchant Centre tied to an AdWords account, set up is simple as:

    1. Create a new campaign
    2. Under 'Ad Extensions', choose 'extend my ads with relevant product details' 
    3. Rather than creating a standard text ad on the next page, choose 'Product Listing Ad' (up to 45 chars promo text is optional - e.g. 'Free shipping over $50') 
    4. The ads will go live after about 48 hours 

    You can then show both a Product Listing Ad and a regular text ad at the same time and you don't have to choose between the two.
